After Saturday evening’s party we still had one more race day ahead of us. Wake up was at normal time on Sunday morning and after breakfast we headed towards the start area. First upwind leg was not good at all. Or maybe we had just become more critical ourselves. After very well sailed downwind leg we ad again upwind leg ahead us and at the same place where we on earlier race days had seen quite strong currents. Price giving ceremony was scheduled and we started to calculate if we would be able to finish the race in time or not. After some calculations and discussion we made hard decision to retire from the race. We still wanted to see price giving and it would not be possible if we would sail the race course.
Our crew were on time at price giving ceremony and we were all wearing our team’s official RSCC 2017 outfit. Winners of each race day got their pricing and at the end regatta winners got their Rolexes and trophies. After ceremony we had dinner at Vahine and then couple of beers at local bar. Monday morning we would head back to St. Maarten.
